BAE Systems UK has awarded the EnerSys Manchester UK facility a contract for submarine batteries for the new fleet of Astute class submarines that BAE is building for the UK Ministry of Defence. Submarine products supplied from the company's Manchester facility offer premium technology, quality and performance. In addition, the German Army has awarded EnerSys a contract to supply advanced maintenance-free batteries for fighting vehicle applications. These batteries will employ best-in-class thin electrode technology, and are specifically engineered and qualified to meet demanding electrical and mechanical requirements.
