Mr. Deshpande has served as Senior Vice President - Advanced Systems at EnerSys since 2011. From 2003 he served as Vice President of Aerospace and Defense. He leads the company's activities in alternative technologies.

Mr. Deshpande holds Master of Business Administration and Master of Science degrees in Electrochemical Engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India.
